Pectoralis Minor:-

Origin: 3rd, 4th and 5th ribs near the costal cartilage

Insertion: Medial border and upper surface of  coracoid process of scapula

Branches of Lateral Cord (All Roots C5, C7):-
Branches of Medial Cord(M4U)
All M root C8-T1 and U root C7-T1
Branches of Posterior Cord
  • Branches from Root:-
    • Long Thoracic Nerve of Bell/Nerve to Serratus Anterior: C5-C7
    • Dorsal Scapular Nerve/Nerve to Rhomboids: C5
  • Coracobrachialis:-
    • Origin: Coracoid process of scapula
    • Insertion: rough, middle third of medial aspect of humerus
  • From Lateral to medial:-
    • Axillary Vein
    • Ulnar Nerve
    • Median Nerve
    • Axillary Artery
  • From lateral to medial of 1st part of Axillary artery:-
    • Lateral cord
    • Posterior cord
    • First of AA
    • Axillary vein
  • From lateral to medial of 2nd par of AA:-
    • Lateral cord
    • AA
    • Medial cord
    • Axillary vein
  • From lateral to medial of 3rd part of AA:-
    • Musculocutaneous vein
    • AA
    • Ulnar nerve
  • Posterior relation of axillary artery:-
    • First parT: medial cord
    • 2nd part: posterior cord
    • 3rd part: Axillary and radial nerve.
  • Anterior relation of axillary artery:-
    • Pectoralis Major
  • Branches of Axillary Artery:-
    • 1st part:
      • Superior Thoracic
    • 2nd part:
      • Acromio Thoracic
      • Lateral Thoracic
    • 3rd part:
      • Subscapular
      • Anterior Circumflex of Humerus
      • Posterior Circumflex of Humerus
  • Erb’s paralysis:-
    • Site of Injury: Upper trunk of brachial plexus containing the Erb’s point- the site where six nerves meet.
    • Cause of Injury:- Undue separation of head from shoulder in case of :-
      • Birth injury
      • Fall on shoulder
      • During anesthesia
    • Nerve Roots:
      • C5 Main
      • C6 Partly
    • Muscles paralysed:
      • Biceps brachii
      • Deltoid
      • Brachialis
      • Brachioradialis
      • Partly :
        • Supraspinatus
        • Infraspinatus
        • Supinator
    • Deformity manifested:–
      • Arms adducted(deltoid), medially rotated(SIT) and hanging by the side.
      • Forarm extended and pronated(biceps brachii)
    • Movements lost:-
      • Abduction and Lateral rotation of the arm at shoulder joint
      • Flexion and supination of forearm
      • Jerks of biceps and supinator
      • Sensations over small part of lower deltoid
